Dear Business Sector Friend…

A month ago, we put out a call to Coventry and Warwickshire’s local businesses and retailers to join us online for open discussion, creativity, strategy, optimism and commitment to action.

Our aim? To start a movement founded on community and neighbourliness that would see social connection at the heart of post-Covid rejuvenation plans for our high streets, city and regional town centres.

With just over one week to go until the event on Thursday 29 April (4-5.30pm), we’re already looking forward to welcoming everyone who has signed up so far!

As a charity this is the first time we’ve reached out. You’ve responded and we’re excited to see where this take us all! So excited in fact that we’re inviting guests to help us devise a playlist for the day bursting with music that represents how they feel about Coventry and Warwickshire.

Businesses and their allies have held strong in the toughest of times. They are on the front line, repairing and restoring our high streets.

We believe businesses will be a major part of our social recovery too. Many of the connections we’ve missed and lost since Covid began will be rekindled and rebuilt in and around our businesses. In cafes, bars, pubs, restaurants, shops, clubs – at your bars, your tills and in your aisles.

Guest speakers are being lined up and we’ll share more on that soon. In the meantime, here’s a reminder of some of the things we’d love to debate, discuss and hear about in our breakout rooms:

  • What more can we do to nurture businesses and high streets as great spaces to connect, meet, spend time and belong?
  • What are your dreams and hopes for the months and years to come?
  • How can we come together to nurture thriving, connected places where people forge relationships and feel like they belong whoever they are?

If that has sparked your interest and you’ve yet to sign up – please do so quickly! If you know anyone else who should be at the table, please point them our way.
