A team day in Stoke Aldermoor last weekend brought members of the community, Grapevine staff and partner organisations with a local commitment together to make plans for further social action.
The day, hosted at the Life Centre in Round House Road, included an ideas session to develop ideas to build further capacity to make social change and also make deeper inroads into forging lasting positive relationships between community and local services.
Some of the ideas presented included litter picking, social enterprise training, a one-stop health shop, a walking school bus, upskilling to increase employability, a local food bank and breakfast club. Plenty to get stuck into over coming months!
The weekend event followed an ideas factory on 18 January at the Alan Higgs Sports and Leisure Centre, where people living either side of the Allard Way in Stoke Aldermoor and Willenhall came up with innovative ideas for using the centre and pledged to make them a reality.
